I am very excited to be running a book binding day course at this wonderful venue Hare Hill Barn on Cartmel Fell on October 13th. Classes are being kept small and places are limited so do book soon if you are interested!
This one day workshop will introduce you to basic bookbinding techniques. You will have the opportunity to make a couple of simple soft backed books using different techniques as well as a hard backed book to take home for yourself, or as a handmade gift.
Sophie will show you how to make a soft backed book using Japanese stab binding and simple pamphlet stitch. We will then progress to making a hard backed book with multiple signatures. If time allows you will then be able to experiment further with making some further soft backed books using different stitching techniques with tutor guidance when needed.
